Concealed Carry Training Info and FAQ's

class length

How long is the Class

Classroom instruction starts at 10am and runs for approx 8 hours.  There is a 1hr break for lunch (Lots of restaurants nearby) and several smaller breaks throughout the course.  

Range qualification begins at 6pm.  

Each group to shoot will take approx 45 minutes.  

There will be 4 to 5 shooters per group.  

Class size is generally limited to 10 to 12 people.

What do I need to bring?

* Driver's License / State ID. / Military ID.

* Any caliber handgun

(The handgun you use to qualify with does not have to be the handgun you carry)

* Holster that completely covers the trigger.

* 100 Rounds of Factory ammunition

* Eye and Ear Protection

* Pen and paper for taking notes.

NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM!

Please leave your handgun and ammunition secured separately, locked inside your trunk or secure compartment inside the vehicle during class.

Range Qualification

Students will complete practical shooting exercises which include practice shooting on the range. The number of rounds fired in practice by each student will be determined by the Instructor / Range Safety Officer.  

Live Fire Range Qualification is 30 rounds, fired in small groups at distances from 3 to 21 feet. (1 to 7 yards) The FBI-Q target shall be used for the qualification.


Written Test

There will be a written test containing a minimum of 30 questions covering all the information provided durring the class. The Nebraska State Patrol provides the test questions. A minimum passing score of 70% is required.



CHP Application and Notary Services

Students will have the opportunity to complete their (provided) Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) application and get it notarized at the end of the classroom portion of the course.
